The last few days have been madness, we moved in on wednesday. We moved in late because of decorators but, it was worth the wait although the last four days have been hectic. Wednesday evening we moved most of our belongings, although theres still a ton of books to come. We also painted the first coat on the bedroom.

Then Thursday we got up early as petes dad popped by and helped us paint the second coat and later that day we painted the living room/ kitchen and got that done so i started unpacking at about 9pm and then we stayed up til one putting up furniture.

Yesterday i had to work and pete put up the new bookshelves and then we had a few guests over.

Today i had to work again and petes parents came over and painted the ceiling and put up our new curtains on the flat as i’m scared of ladders and we have really tall ceilings and windows but the flat as come together really well over the last few days and it looks great and will always stay that way.

Unfortunately due to the busy schedule i haven’t had much knitting done although that will change espcially due to the fact i now have a knitting area (studio space) in my living room it’s going to be great i’m really pleased with how it’s come together although its been hard and tiring.

It’s the first flat we’ve had together and we are love it already :)

Happy knitting

As you may well have known from some previous posts, me and my partner (pete) have to move from our shared house and moved in with a friend ( we are very greatful) unfortunately he had to put his life on hold for us to move out and we ownly had a few weeks to find somewhere yet again. Thankfully we have found somewhere, we have viewed and was able to put down a deposit and we are moving in monday/ tuesday next week. It’s quite abit more than we were willing to pay due to low money income but, we decided enough is enough we will manage and it will be better than living with others and took the leap.

I’ve already been planning things to make like soft furnishing, throws, bed quilts, Welcome mats, alsorts. We are heading to Ikea sunday afternoon to take a nosey around and pick up things we need. Fabrics, storage, lighting, coffee tables etc… the massive list goes on. We have already planned the colours for the living room. We decided on Red, White and Brown. I picked out some white fabric with poppies on for curtains, a throw for the cream suite, walnut coffee table and more. I can wait, My mum is chuffed but to be able to keep up with rent and things i’m going to have to pull my finger out and get a new job, I’m going to search for something on the NHS. i need a consistent salary wage with more hours.

I will keep you posted and take a few photo’s of the new flat, I do think the fact our flat will be above a bakery maybe the hardest part about moving :) NOT!!!

I had the most tiring weekend ever, Saturday was working from 10 AM till 6 PM got home at 7 PM and packed up lots of stuff till 12:30 AM. I then woke up Sunday at 5 AM to get ready for work and realized i didn’t feel too well. I got food poisoning and was getting ready while running for the toilet. Then i finished work at 1 PM to go home and pack and move which took till 6 PM before i was too tired to carry on and we finished moving the rest today. Our room was packed full of stuff but we managed to get it all down three flights of stairs. It was a killer though.

So we are now moved in at a friend of ours, And had a little mishap with one of the cats. Barry the youngest cat decided while i was asleep that he really liked my Shepard’s Delight mittens and scrapped of with them into my friends bedroom which means i had to suffer with cold hands today, i got them back and they were fine thank god!!

No Good news on the home front so we are moving to a friends for a month or so till we get ourself on our feet. It’s going to be hard as I’m going to have to pick and choose my most prized possessions. Of which is definitely my favourite yarns. I’m also taking my Knitting magazines and books, Dvd’s will also have to take the trip with me and my PC which thankfully i can still use the Internet as i have a 3 wireless dongle so i will top up so I’m Internet ready when i move. It’s all a bit upsetting to me though as i wanted this move to be to our new home but no look so Christmas in another persons home this year instead of our own.

I’m going to be shattered by the end of this weekend as I’m working all of it pretty much plus i have to pack, i even have to choose out what clothes to take cos there isn’t enough room to take them. It’s quite upsetting

On good note we will be out of the way of our horrid landlord, and this s**thole.

There’s a small bright side

Finally Finished Sweater

OK so a few months ago i started a new sweater with pure new wool and casted on, did the ribbing and knitted about 4 inches and stopped for while. I suddenly remembered the sweater and decided to pick it up again and carry on knitting. I wasn’t using a pattern which was nice and relaxing figuring out all the shaping as i gradually went along. So last Wednesday and Thursday i did another six inches of stockinette st.  On Friday i did the colour work. and on Saturday i grafted on the sleeves and started the last part of my sweater the yoke and collar area but with misguided calculations I’d done it wrong i had managed to do a good six inches at work and then figured i had to rip it out and start the shaping for the shoulders again. i was more than unpleased but i have to say quickest jumper I’ve do so far, so to carry on with my own personal achievement i carried on with it the Sunday at knitting group and today at 1pm the afternoon i had finished. I almost except 4 inches made an entire sweater in 5 days,  I’m pretty proud and it now fits perfectly i have to say I’m in love with my new sweater. Heres a photo of my sweater.

I also finished my first mitten pattern for my new book And i may as well show you a photo since I’ve posted it on Ravelry in my projects. I’m thinking of put it up soon as another lil taster but we shall have to see. But here it is

They are so pretty and warm i still need another ball of yarn though to finish but it is beautiful.

Me and my partner also had some annoying news on Sunday after i’d had such a good day at my knitting group as well. We found out from our landlord he’s selling the house :( he has gave us 2 weeks to move out we had to bargain with him for 4 weeks which we thankfully now have. It’s made me panic i have to admit, But we are going to look at 3 houses we have taken a fancy too. And the space we will have shall be amazing, plus more room to hide my wool stash lol!! But i do hate time limits which is the thing that as panicked me more. So a lot on this Christmas, especially since we’ll be moving, need to find a better paid job, lots of knitting and designing for my book, Covering staff at my current job all December and plenty more. Yikes!!

Things always work out though in the end even if you don’t think they will at the time.
