Bio

Hello there, My name is Vanessa Townley. I was born in February 1987.

I learned to  knitting when i was  about 10 or 11 years of age although i could never pick it up or get to grips with tension. It was either too loose or too tight. Also i struggled with the English method of knitting. Then a few years ago i started to teach myself how to knit and found the continental method a lot easier for me. Now when learning a new method i give it a few different goes for what i feel most comfortable with.

I have an obsession with knitting and most other crafts, I’ve  recently started spinning my own yarns and Designing and creating my own knit patterns which are for download on Ravelry and on this blog on the patterns page, I live with my partner Pete, he’s a sweetie. I love photography and cameras. I’m a coffee addict anyone will tell you.

I did 4 years at college doing Art and photography. I’m also the founder of Wakefield’s knitting group – Nero’s knitters since June 2009.

July 2010 i will be working as a pattern writer for my local yarn company (LYC), I’ll be working for Sirdar Spinning Ltd.

I took part in knitting for a friends graduate animation end of year film called ‘ The Little red Plane‘ I designed and made the octopus and made the cat it’s cat suit to fit to size around his structure. That’s all for the moment.

September 4th 2010 published my first E-book on my store and on Ravelry ‘Eclectic Knits E-book‘ Containing 8 patterns.

May 14 th 2011 Got my First Freelance design accepted by Sirdar for a Sublime Publication.
